I was born in Biloxi, lived the
global Air Force childhood, and loved it. The cultural influence of the Far
East, Pacific islands, the Caribbean, Europe, and the USA led to a
passionate curiosity about art, design, and food. My career followed that
vibrant path.
San Jose State, Parsons School of Design and the Royal
School of Needlework, La Varenne, and Cordon Bleu London are the backbone of my education.
Present day decorative painting studies continue at the Isabel O’Neill Studio,
NYC.
My design career is quite diverse and includes: Clothes, shoes, and
accessories for Stan Herman, shoes for Calvin Klein, clothes, knits, and
hosiery for Ralph Lauren, a designer jeans line (Jann’s Jeans for MOC;
Japan), patterns for Vogue and McCalls, shoes for Shoe Biz, 5 books on
crafts and cooking (The Jeans Book; Ballantine, The Discovery Book of
Crafts; Readers Digest Press, Sweet Dreams of Gingerbread; Meredith, The
Art of the Cookie; Chronicle Books, and Shortbread; Chronicle Books),
teaching at the Silo (CT), the Napa Valley Cooking School (CA), Cooper
Hewitt Museum, and private groups.
Now—it’s craft designs for magazine editorials and covers (Woman’s World,
CVS, and Parents), licenses, kits, and more books.
I presently live and happily work, work, work in New York City.
